Kitchen Nightmares October 6, 2009

I’ve been working part time at a place that shall remain nameless for some time. At the end of every quarter we’re faced with an inevitable kitchen nightmare.
During the most recent clean-out the staff kitchen was a shambles and the fridge packed with plastic containers and food in varying stages of decomposition. The bench and sink were home to mouldy coffee plungers, a bowl of marmalade full of ants, used teaspoons, spilt sugar and dirty crockery. I think you get the picture.
A colleague joined me in the clean-up and we had a lively debate about whether we should empty each Tupperware container and wash them up rather than throw them out as is – with me being firmly in the “toss it” camp.
